One of the most special members of the AWC family is Arusun, our Formula II Ocean Racing Catamaran. Designed by Rod McAlpine-Downie and built in 1984–1985, she was created for serious ocean sailing. In 1989 Dutch sailor Henk de Velde took her — then named Alisun J&B — on a solo around-the-world record attempt, completing the journey in 158 days. After a life of ocean racing and long-distance adventure, she found her home here in Aruba. These days Arusun has a different mission: bringing people together for sailing, snorkeling, music, drinks and great days on the Caribbean.

We visit two of the island's most iconic underwater sites.

Antilla Shipwreck

Jump in above the famous Antilla, a German cargo ship from World War II measuring more than 400 feet (120 m) long.

The wreck rests in approximately 60 feet (18 m) of water, with large sections close enough to the surface to make it an impressive snorkeling experience.

Boca Catalina Reef

Our second stop takes you to the clear waters of Boca Catalina, where you can snorkel among reef life and colorful tropical fish — and you may even be lucky enough to spot a sea turtle.

Bring an underwater camera. The visibility at Boca Catalina is often over 20 metres!

Swing Into the Caribbean

Our rope swing is one of the newest additions to the Arusun.

Grab the rope, swing out over the water and make a splash straight into Aruba’s beautiful Caribbean Sea.

You may not see it in all of our photos yet, but it’ll be waiting for you onboard.

Sunset Sail

Prefer to enjoy the Arusun as the sun goes down?

Our Sunset Sail is an approximately 2-hour cruise along Aruba’s coastline, perfect for relaxing with drinks, snacks, music and beautiful Caribbean sunset views.

Sunset Sails are available on request only and will operate when there are enough guests to make the trip possible.

Yes! The ARUSUN is family-friendly with safety equipment for all ages. We provide life jackets in all sizes and have shaded areas for younger children to rest.

Our standard tours accommodate up to 20 guests, while private charters can be customized for groups up to 12 people for a more intimate experience.

Booking & Cancellation Policies

We offer free cancellation up to 48 hours before your scheduled activity. Cancellations made within 48 hours will receive a 50% refund. No-shows are non-refundable. Weather-related cancellations receive a full refund or free rescheduling.

After submitting a booking request, you'll receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Full payment is required to secure your spot. We accept credit cards, PayPal, and cash on arrival.

Yes! You can reschedule up to 48 hours before your activity at no extra charge, subject to availability. Contact us directly to arrange a new date and time.

Yes! Groups of 4 or more receive a 10-15% discount depending on the activity and package selected. Contact us for custom group rates and private tour options.

Weather & Safety

Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions are unsafe, we'll contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund. Aruba has excellent weather year-round, but we monitor conditions closely and never compromise on safety.

Aruba is beautiful year-round with consistent warm weather and low rainfall. The peak season is December-April with calmer seas, but May-November offers equally great conditions with fewer crowds.

Yes! We provide life jackets and flotation devices, and our experienced guides are certified in water safety and first aid. We adjust activities to accommodate all skill levels and ensure everyone feels comfortable.

All our staff are certified by PADI (scuba diving), Coast Guard licensed (boat operations), and trained in CPR and first aid. Our equipment is regularly inspected and meets international safety standards.

What to Bring

We recommend bringing: swimwear, towel, sunscreen (reef-safe only), sunglasses, hat, and a waterproof camera. All equipment including snorkels, fins, and life jackets are provided.

While we provide all necessary equipment, you're welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer. We ensure all our equipment is professionally cleaned and sanitized between uses.

Most packages include refreshments and meals. However, you're welcome to bring additional snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Glass containers are not permitted on boats for safety reasons.

We highly recommend waterproof cases or dry bags for your electronics. While we take great care, we're not responsible for water damage to personal items. Waterproof camera rentals are available.
